I grew up along the Outer Banks of NC and I love building things and messing around with boats. International Society of Christian Apologists

This weekend Southern Evangelical Seminary is hosting the organizational meeting of a new professional association for Christian apologists. Dr. Norm Geisler is the cofounder and dean of my seminary and is considered by many as the world's leading expert on Christian apologetics. He and over 100 apologists from across America have gathered to establish this new organization. Dr. Ergun Caner, President of Liberty Theological Seminary, presented the opening paper on "An Evangelical Fatwa". Dr. Caner is a former muslim who converted to Christian as a college student. He gave a clarian call for all evangelical Christians boldly proclaim and defend the historic Christian faith. It is a privilege to be a part of this remarkable event.

C S LEWIS MODULE

Myself and about 25 other apologetic students are taking a week-long module on the apologetic teachings of C. S. Lewis. It was after reading MERE CHRISTIANITY in 1980, that I decided to surrender my life to Jesus Christ. Lewis had a unique ability to capture the thoughts and musings of modern men and woment and to hold them up to the light of God's truth. That was over 25 years ago and I am still facinated by his remarkable insights into the life of faith. Dr. Gary Habermas, Dean of the Philosophy department at Liberty University is leading the seminary. Habermas is an expert on matters Lewis after haining studied and taught at Oxford and Cambridge. Lewis' popularity continues to rise in both secular and faith circles, particularly after the release of the excellent film based on his Narnia series. We are studying his apologetic approaches in MERE CHRISTIANITY, THE PROBLEM OF PAIN, MIRACLES, and THE GREAT DIVORCE. Dr. Habermas is particularly emphasizing Lewis' perspectives on imagination, joy, pain, and doubt. We'll unpack some of the insights over the weeks ahead.

APOLOGEEZER START-UP

Yeah, yeah. I know. What the world needs now is yet another weblog to consume more precious bandwidth. Well, I decided to abandon MISSIONMIND after months of embarrassing silence, and I'm hoping this new iteration of APOLOGEEZER will more accurately reflect my new persona as an apologist-in-training who happens to be the same age as Israel (the current State of, that is).

My intention is to use this forum as a window into the classical apologetics principles and practices I am learning in my studies at Southern Evangelical Seminary. I also intend to examine from a biblical worldview the day-to-day events and trends in America and around the world.

Therefore, welcome to the premier post of APOLOGEEZER and be sure to bookmark me, ya hear!?
